Salty’s Kitesurf Village is a sustainably and ethically run establishment on Bofa Beach, Kilifi.
With beautiful tropical waters, a serene white beach, and a lush garden, our hotel hosts a kitesurf centre, beach bar and restaurant, with regular music events. We cater to all with our twelve unique rooms with tiered accommodation pricing. Saltys hosts various remote working holidays, wellness events, pop up shops/ markets, as well as local and international kitesurf courses and holidays.
Empowerment: Training provided for Kilifi Residents, allowing them to get certified as Kite surfing instructors. We also train interns from hospitality sectors, helping them develop skills.
Locally Authentic: We purchase products such as wooden bowls, ceramics, frames and lighting fixtures from local cottage industries. And our non permanent structures are built using wood sourced from Komaza, a firm that supports small holder farmers and trains them in sustainable timber production.
Recycling: We recycle all waste where possible and incentivize guests and visitors to pick rubbish from the beach with kikapus we provide.
Reuse: We provide free drinking water and 90% of drinks we serve are from deposit bottles to lessen plastic waste. Moreover, we make all our furniture from recycled wood.
Permaculture: We train our gardening crew in permaculture practices at our on site organic farm.
Water Preservation: We use grey water for our garden in line with permaculture principles. Our bathrooms are converted to more water efficient designs.
