Watamu Treehouse

Watamu Treehouse is a retreat and boutique hotel on the nicest part of Watamu Beach.  The house is comprised of three towers built between the magnificent mbamba-kofi (mahogany) trees of the coastal forest, and rising 5 stories into the air to give guests breathtaking views of the sunrises over the sea and the sunsets over the forest.  We have our own 200 metre private path through the indigenous forest to the white sand beach.  We specialise in offering retreats and holidays that are relaxing, energising and nourishing.

• Community Involvement – everything we do is based in the community and designed to involve as many people in our area as possible with benefits for all.
• Community Projects – we are involved in many initiatives in Watamu – we teach 4 community yoga classes, assist a local school, work with various environmental and educational organizations, and also act as a training institution where we hire people and give them a practical on-the-job training to upgrade their professional skills.
• Environment / Conservation – Treehouse is built on a number of principles including not to cut any trees in our forest, and do what we can to preserve our forest, and also work with others who are involved in conservation.  We purchase locally and include people who are working for conservation.
• Wellness: sharing the importance of wellbeing. As a yoga centre, we follow the Gandhian principles of non-violence and truth and try our best to give more to the world than we take.

In 2020 and 2021 Treehouse was awarded Trip Advisors ‘Best of the Best’ – putting it in the top rated 1% of all hotels in the world

Three of our activities were selected by the Kenya Tourism Board amongst the 29 activities in Kenya on the 2021 Kenya Signature Experience Collection.
