Did someone say… sleeping a night on a dhow? The dhow is a large authentic wooden dhow? You can sleep on the deck right under the stars? Food is cooked on board, fresh?
Yes to all of the above. A unique experience, completely off the beaten path – spend a night on a floating dhow in blue waters. The dhow can fit up to 20 people and you get the entire dhow to yourselves if there are 5 or more of you!
This area is also well known for bio-luminescence, which is magical to experience and swim with at night if the moon light is right.
The dhow was originally built to spread love and peace as it sailed around the world and held workshops. Due to covid, the dhow stationed itself in Kenya and we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the magic.

A crew member will meet you and guide you to the dhow. Be ready to be in awe as soon as the dhow is in eye-view. Board the dhow, meet the rest of the crew and have a tour of the place, change into your swimming wear and get comfortable.
The afternoon and evening can be spent just how you want. Swimming, kayaking, reading on the hammock, sunbathing, exploring the dhow, sharing stories with the crew etc etc. Dinner will start being prepared at roughly 6pm (menu can be personalised). Have a group dinner then head to the deck for some star gazing. See if you can spot the bio-luminescence and choose to swim in the magical water. Head to bed when you feel like it, right under the stars.
Wake up at your own time the next morning. You can choose to swim or just enjoy the peace of being out in the water. A Swahili breakfast with hot drinks and fruit will be served. Take the morning easy on boat life!
Absolutely amazing experience!! Evoked a sense of adventure and freedom .. kids loved jumping off the dhow. Bioluminescence is magical! Paulo, Omari & Zamzam were great hosts and made our stay very comfortable.
This was the perfect way to “camp” on open water under the beautiful starry kilifi sky!

Booked the walk with giraffes with T4P. Had an awesome day at the park, guide Konde was very passionate about his work and told us alot about the environment and the giraffes.
The giraffes can roam freely but are very curious about people.

I cannot recommend T4P enough. We went on an overnight dhow stay with them and the whole thing from start to finish was just AMAZING. Seriously couldn’t have asked for anything better. The communication from Sham during our booking process, to the meal choices to individual tastes and options, down to making sure the kids were well looked after – everything was just spot on. We’re looking to sharing more adventures with the T4P team. What amazed me the most was how ethically and environmentally friendly the whole trip was. Just incredible!
