A perfect weekend trip or stopover between Nairobi and the Coast. We offer an inexpensive, charming, and clean place to stay for all types of travellers, the variety of accommodation options range from a 4-bedroom villa style house, charming cottage bandas, dormitory bandas and a campsite. Kivuli Camp is located in the middle of the Rukinga Conservancy which protects over 70,000 acres of highly threatened dryland forest, working closely with locals to enhance cohesion and unity and to promote community-based tourism.
We stayed in Ndovu House for 2 nights. It’s a beautiful Swahili house. The center point being the upstairs lounge with a view over the savannah. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable and this would make a great place for large groups.
We stopped off for just one night to break the journey from the coast and were treated to simple but heavenly accommodation and extraordinary wildlife sightings. A lioness roaring in the early morning all to ourselves and multiple groups of elephants at the water holes. This is not 5* luxury but it is real wilderness and a wonderful wonderful conservation project that deserves support.
